The last four months...in a nutshell!

After a four month hiatus, the Burt Blogger is back! The last four months have been the most blessed months of our lives. I can't begin to put into words how lucky we feel to have Katie in our lives. She continues to amaze us every day with her smiles and laughter, her interest in the world around her, and sweet disposition. How do you begin to summarize the last four months? To keep things simple, I present to you, the last four months....in a nutshell!

It is so strange to look back at some of Katie "the early months" pictures. I forget what a peanut she was when she was born at 8lbs 4.5 oz and 20 inches long. Today she weighs in at almost 13 lb and 24.5 inches long!

Katie always loves her bath time! This picture was taken after her first bath!

The Thinker! Katie took most of her naps in our arms in the first few months of her life. In this picture she is asleep in Grandma Bernard's arms. Now Katie takes all her naps in her crib and sleeps so well at night!

We started introducing Katie to a bottle during week 2! She did a good job taking her bottle, that is until when it counted and Mommy had to go back to work! But we will get to that later....

Some mommy snuggles in the rocking chair that Grandma Bernard rocked her babies in! Katie and I are logging a lot of time in this chair.

When Katie was 1 month old she took her first out of state trip to North Carolina to meet Grandma and Grandpa Burt. We had a lot of fun, mostly because Grandma Burt took Katie so mommy could SLEEP!!!

Me and my buddies! The pictures below are of Katie and her friends Jack and Harper, respectively. We spent a lot of fun time with these two friends during Mommy's maternity leave. Mommy was very thankful for Jack and Harper's moms who helped create wonderful memories for us during our first months of life!

Katie's first Thanksgiving was spent with Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Bernard and Cooper (the dog!). We stayed at home and cooked a nice Thanksgiving dinner, which Katie slept through!

Fa la la la la.....Christmas time! We had a very festive Christmas season, which was kicked off with a visit from Grandpa and Gigi Bernard.

Mommy and Daddy hosted a Christmas brunch for some of our closest friends and Katie got to show off her first dress! Our tights ended up being too big, so we had to go with naked legs and feet :) Live and learn!

We spent Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Burt's house with Uncle Drew, Aunt Jen, and cousins Camille and Josh. We had a great time and even got about 6 inches of snow the day after Christmas. Santa showed up to bring all the kids a ton of gifts! He even got Katie some pretty cool toys!

Mommy drove all the way to Philadelphia so that Katie could meet her cousin Ava!

Mommy had to go back to work after 3 months of magical maternity leave. While this was the hardest thing Mommy ever had to do, Daddy and Mommy hired an amazing nanny. Katie also shares her days with her new friend Charlotte. Below is a picture of the girls during their daily tummy time, which, by the way, Katie hates! She constantly takes a face plant during tummy time, but it is a little more fun with a friend!

Finally, we took an amazing trip to Florida to celebrate cousin Ava's first birthday. The weather was super warm and Katie got to stick her bare toes in the grass and expose some skin to the sun! This is a picture of Daddy, Mommy, and Katie on the beach.

Hopefully, this has caught you up on the first four months of Katie's life. I wish I could post every special moment, but that would require me to post a video that lasts 4 months, 9 days, 11 hours, and 45 minutes!!!!
